Totes For Kids

I LOVE totes, purses and bags!!  So I have been wanting to sew up a couple of bags to use when we are out and about.  I whipped up this cute little number for my daughter.  I think she has a purse and bag obsession also!  Of course, I am sure I had nothing to do with it!  This tote is just the perfect size for a couple of coloring books and a small stuffed animal.  We tend to take the bag with us when we go to restaurants.  It keeps the kids much busier than the little coloring pages that they provide.

Tote for Kids Girlie Reversible tote

Oh and it is reversible!

I have fabric ready and waiting to make me a much bigger bag to carry to school.  I can never have enough school bags!

I have considered making these bags to sell online.  I think I would make a variety of sizes.  What do you all think?  I would LOVE to hear your thoughts and opinions!

Girlie Crocheted Hat

I have been busy crocheting lots of stuff this winter.  I have made a Cowl scarf and I am working on a couple of other scarves!  I also made this really cute hat!

I found this free pattern over at The Dainty Daisy. It is super cute on my 3yr. old!

I love when I can find free, cute patterns that crochet up well!  Thank-you Betsy @ The Dainty Daisy!!

I found the flower pattern here on RavelryIf you do not have a free membership on Ravelry…go and get one!  Especially, if you love to knit or crochet!

If you have not ever tried to knit or crochet…it is SO time to give it a try!  The funny thing is that I started learning to knit first.  But I have found that I really like crocheting much better.  I guess it is just a personal preference.

Here is a little story about my first time knitting.

We have books for sale all the time in our lounge at school.  One day a couple of years ago, there was this book entitled…”Knitting”.

It claimed to teach you to knit 6 great projects!  Oh and it was on sale..only a few dollars!  I ran into the library where several of my K-team were sitting.  I began to tell them that my new book was going to teach me to knit!  They were very skeptical.  Our librarian helped me get it started..and after that I just took off!  Needless to say my K team was amazed that I actually had made the scarf that was in the book!

My motto in life.. if you want to learn how to do something badly enough…

You CAN DO IT!

JUST TRY!

There are always people out there that can lead and guide you in your new learning!  (I have had several guide me!  And I appreciate it!)

While I am on this topic…let me share a my FAVORITE guide to learning to Crochet or Knit.  I still use them to help me learn or re-learn stitches.

I think I picked both of mine up at Hobby Lobby.  I also found them here and here on Amazon.

Let me know if you give either one a try!

Yellow Day

In Kindergarten, the first two weeks we have all of the kids dress in the color of the day.  Each day of the week is a different color!  I always try to participate but find myself lacking certain colors.  This year I had a hard time with the colors yellow and orange.  I guess those are just NOT my colors!  So “yellow day” came and no yellow.  (I really wish I were one of those people that planned ahead, but I am usually just not.)  I finally decided that I would throw together one of these cute little t-shirt scarves that have been all over blog land.  Like as in..I decided to throw it together around 6:00 that morning!(Umm yes, running around trying to make a yellow scarf before leaving to go to school at 7:00!)  I did get to school on time and with a very cute and “yellow” accessory!

Here ya’ go!  This is what I wore on “Yellow Day.”

I actually had fun making it!  The flower took longer than anything. (Basically, just cutting out all of those petals!)  I would definitely recommend making a few of these to accessorize with!  Here is the tutorial that I used for the flower!

Fun, Simple and CUTE!
